Self Defense Against a Roundhouse Kick

How to Defend Against a Roundhouse Kick

  1. Today, since there are many people today who have had some martial arts training, it is not uncommon to see kicking techniques used on the street. The most common of these is the roundhouse kick. Here I am making a block using two hands. Notice how I am using the inner portion of my forearms.

      
  2. You don’t want to block a shin bone with your forearm bones. That it why you should turn your palms out on the block. Once the block is made immediately wrap your arm (left in this case) around the leg, trapping it.


      
  3. This a view from the other side. Notice how have his leg locked under my arm and I am getting ready to drive toward him.

      
  4. Starting to drive forward, take your free hand and grab his shoulder.
