Defending Against a Backhand Club Attack

How to Defend Against a Backhand Club Attack

  1. The attacker is using a club and attacking in a horizontal manner back handed. As in the Outside Club attack, he may be swinging the club from side to side.

      
  2. Timing is important as you need to step in to perform this two handed block. Note the palms are out. This provides somewhat of a cushion if your timing is off and one of your blocking arms gets hit with the club. Getting hit on the bone almost guarantees a bone break.


      
  3. As soon as the block is made slip your rear hand (right in this case) over the top of him attacking arm.

      
  4. Continue bringing your arm over and around his arm. Grab on his arm with this same hand (right in this case) and lock it into your side.
