Defending Against a Hammer Lock

How to Defend Against a Hammer Lock

  1. A hammer lock can be a very painful experience. Additionally damage can be done to your shoulder if enough pressure is applied. Sometimes the attack can vary with one hand on the elbow or on the shoulder. In any case the same defense will be used.

      
  2. Glance over the opposite shoulder of the attack. Looking back, palm slap the groin.


      
  3. Twisting strongly to the rear, deliver a rear rising elbow strike to the face.

      
  4. Now step out with the opposite leg (of the arm that is attacked). Step deeply so that your arm straightens out all the way. Continue to look back at your attacker.
