How to Defend Against a Double Collar Grab
- A double collar or lapel grab can be the start of a much more dangerous attack.
- Our first response, if the situation dictates, will be a palm heel clap to the ear. In order for him to stop your counter attack he would need to release one of his hands. Clapping the ear can be very painful as well as causing severe equilibrium as the inner ear controls our balance.
- Bringing either hand over the top of the arm on that side, you are going to ‘weave’ your hand over one are and up under the other.
- You can see in this illustration how the hand and arm ‘weaves’ over the same side arm and under the other. Bend your wrist up so that the weaving hand is straight up.
